dialogue

Just another day in south central watts. Hardly being able to wake up due to the gunshot sounds at night of the harbor city crips. It's not easy being a long beach blood. Jamall has to watch his back no matter where he goes even at the comforts of his house. Bullet holes at his door, cracked windows, blood stains on the carpet from previous drivebys. You can say that it is a dangerous environment. Jamall is a young 17 year old african american gang member who is just trying to get by in life. His father is a meth addict who abandoned their family when he was just 7 year old. His mother does the best she can to support her family working two jobs a day who barely gets to spare money to buy clothes for her sons Jamall and Andre. His mother always nags her sons to do well in school and to try to do what it takes to get a scholarship to get into a university so they can get out of the hood and live a healthy life. Andre is still too young to understand as a 2nd grader, as he plays with his nerf ball tossing it up landing in his curly thick hair into the grass, Andre though young, is a very bright kid with not only books smarts, but streets smarts and knows how to survive the wild. Obviously Jamall taught Andre a thing or too on how to avoid violence or self defense. Andre may not be the brightest kid in the school room, but he sure can ball. As a football player standing at 5 foot 11 inches weighing in at a muscular 195 pounds he is the star running back at crenshaw who has all the scouts drooling over him to commit. Even though Jamall is gang affiliated he hopes for Andre to avoid that lifestyle because he loves him too dearly and knows that a bright future lies ahead of him. Jamall always plays football with his brother in the backyard teaching him some moves and jukes. He sprints with him and works with him on his agility, hoping that Andre can carry the tradition of being a star running back. Andre loves playing with his older brother and can feel his warmth as he picks him up and puts him on his shoulders. As Andre ran for a diving catch he landed in a pile of mud. His smile and laughter brought joy with all his clothings covered in brown, His air max 95s were brand new and all dirty now. How does Andre have such expensive shoes? Jamall has connections as he sells dope on the streets he gets paid a large amount of money and gives back to his mother. Luckily, she does not know, but it is a risky business where one mess up could leave your body dumped in the harbor. One day he will get out of that business Jamall says who will go to full ride football scholarship at UCLA to get a degree. Jamall's dream when gets out of the hood is to buy his mother a new home in Los angeles where they can live peacefully and never worrying about if they will see another day.
